Raising money for the charities closest to us has been a huge part of our company culture for many years and 2021 was no different. On Monday 13th September we held our Annual Charity Day and raised a record breaking amount… we are so pleased to announce we raised a total of £17,000 on the day and with company contributions.
We couldn’t start off this Ice News post without firstly saying a massive thank you to our whole team. Every year they go the extra mile to help us raise money for the charities closest to us.
We’d also like to say a huge thank you to our suppliers, because without them we wouldn’t have been able to raise the amount of money we did on our main raffle. We received so many generous donations from ipads, to hotel nights away, to bottles of booze, to vouchers and so much more. You guys are incredible!
On the day the team got involved in games and challenges which included our annual ice bag throwing championship, a blind bottle game and a raffle to win extra holiday days. Not only this we introduced a brand new challenge called ‘The Ice Dunk Tank Challenge’, which is exactly how it sounds. Because if it doesn’t involve ice is it even an Ice Co event?
We asked the team to nominate the employees they would like to see dunked in an ice-cold tank of water. When we say ice-cold, we mean ice-cold. See a picture below where we tested the temperature of the water. It was literally freezing!
Without further ado watch 18 of the team get dunked, their facial expressions say it all….
Each year we ask our employees to nominate their favourite charities to split the money raised. We will be supporting 18 charities which we’ve listed below…
Pontefract Prince of Wales Hospice, Rett UK, Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance, Mind Charity, Afghan Aid, Unicef, Save the Children, Autism Society, NSPCC, The Children’s Hospital Charity, Tiny Hearts Foundation, Derian House, Hemsworth Food Charity, British Lung Foundation, Prostate Cancer, Guide Dogs and The British Heart Foundation.
It was the first time in 2 years we were able to get together! Our Annual Charity Day was a huge success and will be remembered for years to come. The question is, how will we top it in 2022?
