Looking for tips on how to make your upcoming dinner party the best of the best? Look no further! Here are The Ice Co’s top Dinner Party Dos & Don’ts to make sure your guests leave in high spirits and wondering when the next one will be!
Dinner Party Don’ts
DON’T burn the food!
No pressure, but when you’re hosting a dinner party, the main event is, well… the dinner. No guest wants to be ordering a take-out on the way home!
DON’T eat all the snacks
We’ve all been there. You lay out the snacks waiting for the guests to arrive and before you know it, you’re half a bag of crisps down and the olives are nowhere to be seen.
DON’T yawn until at least two hours in
No guest wants to feel like they’ve outstayed their welcome. However, if it’s 1am and that one guest still hasn’t got the memo, just go to bed. They’ll find their way out.
DON’T let drinks run empty
When hosting a fabulous dinner party, it comes with responsibility. That means keeping an eye on almost empty glasses to make sure they’re topped up with an ice-cold drink!
DON’T forget the ice!
The most important point of them all! NOBODY wants a lukewarm drink. We’d recommend going all out with our Super Cubes. A great ice breaker if you are wondering how to kick off a conversation and if all else fails they’re big enough to hide behind!
Dinner Party Do’s
DO bring out your best glassware!
We all have our favourite glassware that we keep tucked away in a cupboard to save for a ‘special occasion’ right? This is the occasion! Impress your guests by serving them an ice-cold drink in a gorgeous glass!
DO pick the right playlist!
Picking the right genre of music is super important. If you’re keeping it to a calm, quiet evening, a heavy metal playlist may not be the right choice. (However, after a few G&T’s, anything goes!)
DO make an effort!
We’re not saying black tie, but we’re not saying your PJ’s and a dressing gown either. (Sorry, we would if we could too.)
DO provide entertainment!
It’s that time of the night where dinner has been eaten, the drinks are flowing and everyone’s in high spirits. Depending on the vibe of the evening, it’s time to either get out a board game, stick on the karaoke or even play a game of beer pong!
DO HAVE FUN!
Look, even if the food does burn, the snacks are nowhere to be seen and you just can’t seem to get the playlist right, don’t worry. All is not lost! You can still have a brilliant dinner party, just relax, and enjoy yourself by keeping it light-hearted and fun!
(As long as you don’t forget the ice. Now THAT is non-negotiable.)
