For most of the British public, Dancing On Ice is the perfect Sunday night viewing – and the thirteenth season hasn’t let its reputation fall. From a plethora of world-class perfect 40 scores from Brenden Cole, Kimberly Walsh and Regan Gascoigne to Bez’s melon madness, the greatest show on ice has yet again produced many unforgettable TV moments.
However, with this season’s show almost coming to an end, Europe’s leading Ice manufacturer and supplier, The Ice Co., has compiled the ultimate list of memorable (and shocking) Dancing on Ice moments that will either bring a tear to your eye, or make you roll on the floor in laughter.
1. David Seaman drops the ball
Cast your minds back to the first ever series of Dancing on Ice, when former England goalkeeper David Seaman attempted to pull off the infamous headbanger move. Unluckily for his partner Pam O’Connor, the attempt went horribly wrong as, ‘not so safe hands’ Seaman dropped his partner onto the ice. O’Connor was then rushed to hospital and had to have stiches in her chin.
Joe Pasquale goes down like a lead balloon
Comedian Joe Pasquale outstayed his welcome on the show in 2013 with his shocking skating skills. Joe’s partner was Vicky Ogden and the pair surprisingly kept making it through to the next week. At one point Joe even fell flat on his face during his routine to Flash, but that wasn’t enough to eliminate him!
Judge Jason Gardiner’s memorable face-off
Former Dancing On Ice judge Jason Gardiner was infamous for his harsh critics and argumentative nature. However, in 2011 after a heavily criticised performance from Denise Welch, her then-husband Tim Healy surprised everyone when he took it upon himself to confront the controversial judge.
“She’s 52 and she’s got four jobs”, Tim told him, as he got up close and personal with Jason, while Denise ordered him to sit down, which made for hilarious TV gold.
Pamela Anderson’s wardrobe malfunction
Hollywood star Pamela Anderson suffered a hysterical stumble and a wardrobe malfunction as she became the first celebrity to be axed from her season of Dancing on Ice. Although she had performed strongly in her first dance earlier in the evening, her second dance was ruined by her dress issue resulting in her early elimination.
Gemma Collins Channels Celine Despite Fall
The Only Way Is Essex star Gemma Collins’ entire time on the show was pretty unforgettable, but we certainly won’t forget the time that she brutally fell flat on her face whilst dancing to the famous ballad by Celine Dion.
Despite the blunder, she got back up and carried on with her partner. Waiting to get her scores Gemma bursts into tears after the fall expecting to get low marks from the judges.
Todd Carty skating through the tunnel
The best, and perhaps controversially, the most memorable moment on the skating show. Did you think Bez was bad on the ice? You haven’t seen nothing yet. One of the most hilarious moments to ever happen on Dancing on Ice was when Todd Carty fully lost control of himself during his performance.
While skating with his professional partner Susie Lipanova, the duo took on a routine to The Beatles song ‘Help’. As the song is titled, Todd really did need some help, as he spiralled out of control and ended up skating back through the tunnel backstage, which safe to say was not part of the plan.
