The 21st of June we are officially naming as ‘National Ice Cube Day’!
Yes, you are reading that correctly… a day for ice cubes, a small and shiny conversation starter, which plays such an important role in our everyday lives, therefore we thought screw it, why not dedicate a day to them?
Here’s exactly why we think ice cubes need their very own special day in just a few words…
They’re small and mighty. They refresh your day, your drink and so much more. The 21st of June will be a day to remind the UK just how versatile they really are… It is about more than the physical ice cube; it is about what they help us do and the experiences they help us create. A lot of people can relate to how a nice glass of something cold can help them relax, feel better and enjoy those special moments in life. They’re there to chill bottles of the good stuff when you have a celebration and in vital moments, when you’ve had an injury and a bag of ice will only do.
So why the 21st of June?
Throughout the year ice cubes are used widely by lots of you in lots of different settings. Whether that be in your homes, at a special event, at your local bar or restaurant and more. They’re used a lot throughout the year, but summer is the pinnacle of ice cube use, therefore the 21st of June couldn’t be a more perfect time to celebrate a day for ice cubes.
There’s nothing that says summer more than the sound of ice cubes clinking in the glass, right? When the sun is shining, and temperatures are warmer meaning those ice-cold drinks are relished and desired even more. BBQs and gatherings in the garden, picnics in the park, time on the beach and staycations are our favourites.
There is no better time for National Ice Cube Day than in the height of summer!
We’d like for you to grab a glass, fill it with ice and to post to your socials using the hashtag #nationalicecubeday. Don’t wait a minute longer, it’s only here for the day!
Cheers!
