After one of the rainiest Julys on record in the UK, summer finally seems to be in full swing this month and whilst we don’t want to accept it right now, those darker, colder nights will soon be upon us! But let’s not think about that just yet, instead here at The Ice Co we want to help you to drag summer out for as long as possible this year and create a truly memorable September. We’ve pulled together all of our top tips on how you can keep living your best lives now our final summer bank holiday is over.
Let’s get cosy
We all love to sit around the firepit once the sun goes down and there’s no need to put it away yet, with the darker evenings incoming they’re more convenient than ever! Be ready with lots of cosy blankets to keep spirits up and keep the party going outside, you can pick these up for as little as £2.50 each from places like JYSK and Ikea. If you’re still feeling the chill but don’t want to call it a night yet, having hot water bottles on hand to dish out to your guests is a great way to keep everyone snug.
Too rainy to BBQ?
We’ve all been there, it is the British summer after all but when the BBQ is a no-go, a trusty air fryer is a great replacement to achieve that delicious BBQ finish from the comfort of your own home. Burgers, wings, ribs you name it, you can air fry it and one of the best parts is you can even cook from frozen! We recommend checking the information provided by your air fryer manufacturer but here are some general timings for cooking classic fresh BBQ food in the air fryer:
Ribs – Around 30mins
Burgers – 10 mins, flipping halfway through
Chicken Wings – 15 mins
Jacket potato – 35 mins
Sausages – 8 mins
Corn on the cob – 12 mins
Steak – 10mins
Sharing is still caring
At The Ice Co, our summer has been dedicated to bringing people together away from the pull of devices and one of the ways we’ve done this is by creating lots of delicious sharing cocktails designed to be experienced with friends. You can see all of our sharing recipes here featuring delicious wine cocktails like our Rose Wine Sangria and frozen cocktail classics like the tangy Frozen Aperol Spritz.
