As the highly anticipated new Wonka film is set to be released today, we’d like to share some cocktails based on our favourite Willy Wonka characters. No matter what your taste is in candy, one of these drinks is guaranteed to suit your preference!
Delve into the world of Wonka yourself, with friends or even host a Wonka cocktail party by giving the following recipes a go. Choose from a delicious frozen bubblegum daiquiri scattered with popping candy and gum balls, a smooth and creamy salted caramel martini decorated with toffee, an outrageously over-the-top candy shop cocktail, a super-chocolatey chocolate mudslide, or a candyfloss showstopper sharing cocktail and satisfy your sweet tooth. These cocktails are super fun to make and offer a colourful and energetic activity amidst the Wonka fandom and cold dark weather!
VIOLET’S FROZEN BUBBLEGUM DAIQUIRI
Let’s begin with Violet, a competitive, bubblegum fanatic and who well, always aims to be the best! Her character in drink form would be none other than the popular frozen bubblegum daiquiri. This cocktail requires a blender, simply add your rum, bubblegum syrup, pineapple juice, grenadine and purple food colouring into a blender with plenty Party Ice. The consistency should be slush-like and is best served in a margarita glass. Get creative the Wonka way and make it as loud and eye-catching as possible, we recommend garnishing with candyfloss, bubblegum and gumballs!
RECIPE
Party Ice
X 40ml Rum
X 5ml bubblegum syrup
X 40ml Pineapple juice
X 5ml Grenadine
Garnish: candyfloss & bubblegum
VERUCA’S SALTED CARAMEL SWIRL
Third but by all means not the worst. Mike TV never really knew what he wanted when in the Wonka factory and that is why in drink form, we feel he would be the outrageous candy shop cocktail. Quite literally a candy shop in a glass. This cocktail requires a shaker full of Party Ice, Midori, pineapple juice, lime vodka and blue curacao to be strained into a hurricane glass of Party Ice, then topped up with lemon-lime soda. Go wild on garnish, the more outrageous the better. We suggest garnishing with all your favourite sweets!
