As the summer draws to a close, then comes one of our most exciting events of the year – The Ice Co Charity Day! After a record-breaking year in 2023, our team came together again this September to raise money for 18 incredible charities nominated by our colleagues. After the incredible response to last year’s challenge, we upped the stakes this year with The Icy Dash 2.0, a fast-paced team relay through a 135ft inflatable course.
This year we had 10 teams step up for the challenge, going head-to-head in heats, competing to get the fastest time to qualify for a coveted spot in our grand final. After throwing their all at the course in the heats, our final two teams came down to “Where’s Wiggy Gone” and “Alans Angels”. Completing one final run on our huge assault course, “Where’s Wiggy Gone” crossed the finish line to claim victory, awarded with a bottle of spirit and a gold medal each to celebrate!
The rest of the team we’re lucky enough to have front row seats to The Icy Dash, take a look at some of the hilarious shots from the action below…
But the fun didn’t stop there, our traditional ice bag throwing called for a new champion this year with Corey managing to throw a bag of our Party Ice the furthest, earning him a well-deserved spot in the winner’s circle. As always our team were treated to a delicious lunch amidst all the fun, enjoying fish and chips as well as brownies and blondies from our favourites Brown and Blond!
To end the day it was finally time for the anticipated raffle with lots of incredible prizes up for grabs including hotel stays, vineyard tours, vouchers and even annual leave days! Despite all the fun we had, the main aim for the day was to raise as much money as possible for those in need and our staff raised a record-breaking £2,239. Along with the company donation, we matched the monies raised last year, with another £18,000 total, split equally between the 18 deserving charities nominated by staff. Here’s who The Ice Co will be supporting this year:
