Let’s cut to the chase, for our latest ice news feature we’ve been getting acquainted with Cut Rum. The perfect blend of Caribbean spices produces the finest quality rum that goes perfectly with our finest quality ice, Super Cubes. We spent some time getting to know the ins and outs of the world of rum with Cut Rum, which we wanted to share with you, so here’s our Q&A with them…
Tell us 3 fun facts about Cut Rum…
Cut Rum cuts to the chase, focusing on real rum with real spice rather than marketing gimmicks. There’s no pirates, sea monsters or pin up girls; instead just the best tasting rum for those that know the difference.
Cut Rum launched the first smoked rum in the UK; blending the finest aged Caribbean rum with oak chip vapour, to infuse a natural yet powerful flavour into the spirit. An excellent alternative to peated whiskies and stirred down drinks such as an old fashioned.
If you like spiced rum, then why not experiment with Cut Overproof Rum, similar to our Cut Spiced Rum but at 75.5% ABV it’s a strong but incredibly smooth rum which can be enjoyed over ice (carefully) and with Super Cubes preferably or in simple drinks such as an overproof daiquiri.
How long did it take to develop your Cut Spiced Rum?
Quality is incredibly important when it comes to Cut Rum. We spent several years finding the right premium grade Caribbean rum and working meticulously on the best blend of spices to create a rum which didn’t compromise on flavour. But ultimately we don’t like to talk about how we got to where we are, instead we like to focus on enjoying all our hard work with a well deserved drink.

Cut Rum uses premium Caribbean rum, mostly aged from Worthy Park, Jamaica, which is known for its body and complexity.
