Do you want to plan the perfect birthday party but don’t know where to start? We’ve got you covered! Whether you’ve been appointed as head of the planning committee for a friend, or you’re planning your own birthday soirée, check out our top tips on how to plan a birthday party to remember.
Choosing a theme
Before anything else, you need to pick a theme! Preferably one that’s best suited to the person you’re celebrating. It could be a fancy dress theme from their favourite film or music artists, or something that you know they’d love such as glam, glitter, or a particular era such as the 70s. Once you’ve decided on your theme, make sure you buy all your decorations – the bigger the better.
Drinks, drinks, drinks
Every successful party needs a top tier selection of drinks that cater to all guests! To keep it simple, you can never go wrong with a variety of beers, wines, ciders and soft drinks. Guests can either bring their own or you can provide them on the day, but make sure to stock up on lots of Party Ice and buckets to keep everything at its best throughout the day.
To take your drinks selection up a level, cocktails are a great addition to any party plus it can also be a fun activity for guests to get involved with. You can create your own mini bar and let guests try their hand at some cocktail creations, or offer quick and easy classics such as Margaritas, Daiquiri’s, Pornstar Martini’s and more which can be found here. Party Food & Snacks
Delicious food is another way to make your party a success! If you’re wanting to keep it super simple, you can offer a selection of dips and crisps, cheese and crackers platters, and/or finger sandwiches plus easy deserts like brownie bites, cupcakes, or homemade ice lollies. To really mix things up, you could give each guest a theme or style of food and encourage them to bring their own selection of nibbles to the party with them. For something a little more substantial, hire an external catering company to supply the food for your guests. Don’t forget to offer vegan and veggie options too!
Music & Entertainment
Finally, to set the mood and create the ultimate party atmosphere, you need to choose the best music and entertainment. Consider hiring a professional DJ to elevate the entertainment experience or create the ultimate playlist with a combination of your favourite artists and sing along songs. You could even hire a karaoke machine to create an unforgettable moment with all your closest friends.
